The cooperation in the field of nuclear technology between Pakistan an France in any form is not on the agenda of dialogue process between the two countries.

According to The News, French ambassador in Pakistan Regis de Belent revealed this without giving the details and causes for it, in an exclusive chat with The News here at his residence in diplomatic enclave Monday evening.

The ambassador said that ties between Pakistan and France are back on track after a long pause.

General Ehsan-ul-Haq, chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) who visited France in May last year played an important role in it.

The general had extensive and important meeting with high officials of defense, foreign affairs and other spheres.

Since then the pace of improvement in the ties has been accelerated, he said.

The restoration of dialogue between the two countries has paved the way for enhancing cooperation of the two countries in many fields especially in defense, he said.
