Islamabad, June 26, IRNA
Pakistan-Suicide attack
At least six Pakistani security men were killed when a suicide bomber rammed his car into a check post in the country's restive tribal region on Monday, correspondent in the region said.

The army spokesman Major General Shaukat Sultan confirmed the attack.

He said that ten security men were also injured in the attack in North Waziristan tribal area.

Correspondents in the region have put the death toll at seven.

They said a white color explosive-laden car exploded with a huge blast when the security men were present in the check post. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

But the authorities blame such attacks on the militants.

The new attack has been carried out one day after Pakistani Taliban in North Waziristan tribal region announced temporary ceasefire to give time to a traditional tribal jirga, or council of elders, to solve the crisis in the tribal area.

A purported spokesman for the local Taliban Abdullah Farhad made the announcement on Sunday with a condition that Pakistani troops should be removed from the roadside check posts and confined them to their forts during the ceasefire.
