Pakistan halts Waziristan military operation - minister

Pakistani troops have halted operation in North Waziristan tribal region against the pro-Taliban agents, killing 24 of them, Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao said Sunday.
Four soldiers were also killed in clashes in Miran Shah, the headquarters of North Waziristan over the past two days.
Fourteen people were also injured in the clashes, Sherpao told a private TV channel adding that exchange of fire continued for the whole day Saturday.
Sherpao said that local authorities, with the help of people, are trying to restore security and tranquility to the region.
