Islamabad, Sept 26,IRNA - Authorities in Pakistan's tribal region on Monday sized huge cache of heavy weapons, including missiles and anti-tank mines, reports said. "The weapons were recovered from a house in Mohmand tribal agency, close to the Afghan border, in a two-hour pre-dawn operation by local militia," Geo television reported.

"Taj Muhammad Khan, owner of the house was taken into custody and is being questioned," the report said.

The weapons include 450 air-to-ground missiles, 350 mortar guns, four anti-aircraft guns, eight boxes of anti-personnel mines, three anti-tank mines and huge quantity of different type of bullets.

The report said that Taj Muhammad told the investigators that he had been storing the weapons since the Afghan Jehad against the Soviets and later during the civil war.

"I was planning to sell the weapons and was waiting for a proper time," the TV quoted Taj Muhammad as telling the investigators.

Mohmand Agency is located in tribal region, close to Afghan border, but has been relatively calmer than Waziristan tribal region, where the military are hunting for suspected foreign and local militants.
