Pakistan-plane crashes
A French-made Mirage fighter plane of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) crashed on Sunday in mountainous areas in eastern Punjab province, a senior police officer said.
The plane came down in the mountains of Daud Khel area in Mianwali district, some 230 kilometers southwest of Islamabad, at around 8 a.m., Aslam Khan Ghauri, District Police Officer told Geo television.
"Police teams have found the wreckage after intensive search of few hours".
The wreckage was scattered in the mountains, Ghauri said.
He did not have any information about the pilot and search for the pilot was continuing.
There was no immediate information available as to what caused the crash.
The Pakistan Air Force has ordered board of inquiry into the crash.
Bad weather is likely to be the cause of the crash, Geo TV quoted a PAF official.
