Pakistan for talks with India on missile tests

Pakistan said it will discuss with India the agreement for pre-notification of missile tests during next round of talks on nuclear confidence building measures (CBMs) starting on August 5 in New Delhi.
Upgradation of the hotlines between the Director General Military peration (DGMO), and establishment of a dedicated and secure hotline between foreign secretaries of the two countries are issues that are expected to come up during the two-day parley, to be held on August 5-6, Foreign Office said late Tuesday.
A meeting on conventional CBMs will be held on August 8. Tariq Osman Haider, Additional Secretary Foreign Office, will lead the Pakistani delegation.
The Agreement of Pre-Notification of Missiles Test would also come under discussion, state APP news agency reported.
"These measures are intended to prevent misunderstanding and reduce risks relevant to nuclear issues."
It added that culture secretaries of both countries would meet in Islamabad on July 26-27 to promote people-to-people contacts and friendly exchanges in various fields of life.
Meanwhile, commerce secretaries of the two countries would meet in New Delhi on August 9-10 to discuss the economic and commercial cooperation issues. The two secretaries would also jointly chair the meeting of Joint Study Group, formed for the promotion of the Pakistani products in Indian markets, Foreign Office added.
Interior secretaries of both countries would discuss matters relating to terrorism and during trafficking on August 29-30 in the Indian capital, according to a statement.
