Pakistan - Extremism
Pakistan has said that Al-Qaeda had established a strong nexus with outlawed extremist groups in the country.
According to Daily Times on Friday, Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Sherpao said in an interview that the establishment of strong nexus would not dent the government's resolve against terrorism.
Pakistan has banned several extremist groups: Jaish Mohammad, Harkatul Mujahideen, Jamaitul Ansar, Laskhar-e Jhangvi and Laskhar-e Taiba, the newspaper said.
The minister rejected a recent report published in an American newspaper that there were scattered training camps of terrorists in different parts of Pakistan.
"Terrorists do not have to train a suicide bomber. They have people indoctrinated for this type of job. So there are no such training camps anywhere in Pakistan," the daily quoted the minister as saying.
