Two men have been detained in connection with the last month bomb attack on a religious gathering in Islamabad which had killed some 20 people, Interior Minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao said on Friday.
Police had described the blast as suicide attack, carried out when Shiite Muslims were gathered at the end of annual festival at the shrine of the sufi saint Bari Imam.
"The case of terrorism at Bari Imam would be solved within few days," Sherpao told a private TV channel.
"Progress has been made in the case and two persons have been included in the investigation of the case. They are being
interrogated," he added.
He did not disclose identity of the arrested men and also avoided to say which sectarian group was involved.
"We have found some leads," the official said.
"We have clues about the case," he said to a question, "But linkages are being established".
Asked whether the blast was the result of sectarianism, Mr Sherpao said he will not give any details but said it was an act of terrorism.
