Pakistan and India are set to return to back channel diplomacy to discuss Kashmir and other matters of bilateral importance, a local press reported on Friday.
President General Pervez Musharraf's aide and secretary general of the National Security Council is likely to leave for Dubai Friday to meet his Indian counterpart KR Naraynan, the report said.
The meeting that is being described of greater importance is being held after President Musharraf's discussions with the visiting All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders this week.
Islamabad and New Delhi have been opting for the back channel diplomacy in recent years to ease out tensions and ensure smooth forward movement of the peace process negotiations.
Both countries started the process last year in February after a historic meeting between President Musharraf and former Indian premier Atal Behari Vajpayee in Islamabad in January here.
The two countries' leaders have decided to resolve all of their out-standing issues, including Kashmir problem, over which they have fought two wars, through peaceful means.
The new Congress and its allies' government also followed the policy of normalisation of relations with Pakistan, introduced by the Bharatiya Janata Party, after it managed to come to power
last year.
