Japan has said that it intends to resume loan facility to Pakistan, but similar to Islamabad share information on nuclear proliferation with Tokyo, a local press report said on Friday.

Down daily reported that a formal announcement about resumption of the facility could be made during the upcoming visit of Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi early next month.

"Japan has asked Pakistan to provide information about the activities of the Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan network, particularly its involvement in the nuclear program of North Korea.

"Japan's Foreign Minister Nobutaka Machimura conveyed this to his Pakistani counterpart Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri on the sidelines of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue," added the daily.

Japan had suspended the facility in response to India's request after Pakistan conducted nuclear explosions in 1998.

Dr. Khan has already admitted his involvement in nuclear proliferation.
