Pakistan dismisses US daily report on Iran nuclear talks
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Islamabad, Feb 27, IRNA -- Pakistan on Sunday dismissed as baseless a report in an American daily that international investigators have produced evidence about an alleged secret meeting between Iranian officials and associates of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, founder of Pakistan`s nuclear program. "The report is unfounded and no evidence has been produced to Pakistan about any meeting," Foreign Office Spokesman Masood Khan said in a statement, the state-run PTV reported. A Washington Post report claimed on Sunday that in the meeting held in Dubai in 1987, a written offer was made to help Iran`s nuclear program. "There is no new evidence in the news report," the spokesman added. Khan said that Pakistan`s investigations into the alleged transfer of nuclear technology are completely satisfactory and that the world community has also recognized the fact. TK/TSH/2322/1412
