Chinese frigates deal in final stages - Pak Navy

Islamabad, Dec 30, IRNA -- Pakistan`s negotiations with China and the United States for the procurement of new frigates and aircraft for the Pakistan Navy are in final states. The newspaper `Dawn` reported in its Thursday issue that procurement of F-22P frigates from China is in final stages of contractual negotiations while the talks with the US are in progress and it would deliver two P-3C aircraft by the end of 2005. Quoting Pakistan Navy Chief Admiral Shahid Karimullah, the newspaper said the government was set to provide support to the marine force within the available resources. MHA/TSH/2322/1432
