Pakistan, France discuss defense production

Islamabad, Dec 16, IRNA - Pakistan and France have expressed desire to enhance collaboration in defense production sector, a statement of Defense Ministry said here Thursday. According to the statement, Pakistan Federal Minister for Defense roduction Habibullah Warriach and the visiting French delegation headed by General Jean-Paul Panie who is the Director of International Relations Directorate of the Director General Armaments discussed various aspects of the cooperation between the two countries. Gen Panie arrived here on a four-day visit to identify areas of cooperation with his Pakistani counterparts, the statement added. "During the meeting, both side discussed the issues of mutual interest." The delegation also held a meeting with the officials of the Ministry of Defense Production. The Pakistani side was led by Air Marshal (Retd) Zahid Anis, Secretary Defense Production, while the French side was headed by General Panie. "Both sides expressed complete satisfaction over the progress achieved in the field of defense collaboration," it was officially announced. This was the 8th meeting of Franco-Pakistan Armaments Committee hich holds meetings of the kind on annual basis to review and enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense production.
