No CIA bases in Pakistan, says Army

Islamabad Dec 14, IRNA -- Pakistan has denied a newspaper report that US Central Investigation Agency (CIA) had set up covert bases in the country`s remote tribal regions to hunt down Osama bin Laden. Daily Times newspaper reported on Tuesday that Pakistan reiterated there is no evidence Osama was hiding in Pakistan, denying the US daily report. The daily added that US officials had not found intelligence on Osama`s whereabouts, although, their information had helped nab some Al-Qaeda suspects in Pakistan. Islamabad has been constantly saying that it had no clue about the whereabouts of Osama, but suggested that he could be around the Pak-Afghan border. MHA/TSH/1430/1412
