Pakistan testfires nuclear-capable missile

Islamabad, Nov 29, IRNA -- Pakistan conducted a test of its nuclear- capable ballistic missile on Monday as part of efforts to boost its defenses, the state-run television reported. "A successful test of the indigenously surface-to-surface solid- fuel missile Hatf-III Ghaznavi, with a range of 290 kilometers, was conducted on Monday," PTV said. The missile can carry nuclear and all other warheads, it added. "All the required parameters, designs and data was achieved." The test was Pakistan`s third of the Ghazanvi missile and its second major missile test in the past six weeks. The missile was already tested in 2002 and 2003 and delivered to the army in February this year. In October, Pakistan launched the Hatf-V Gauri missile, which has a range of 1500 kilometers.
