Pak, US hold nuclear safety talks - report

Islamabad, July 22, IRNA -- For the first time, the United States and Pakistan discussed safety of Islamabad`s civilian nuclear reactor program in Washington. Daily Times reported in its Thursday issue that both sides had three days of lengthy talks on the sensitive matter. It said the experts discussed basically reactor risk issues, matters involving research into aging materials, inspection and enforcement activities. According to the report, there was a point of worry for certain US experts that helping the civilian nuclear programs might also advance nuclear weapons program that the international community seeks to limit.
