Pakistan fighter plane crashes, pilot dies

Islamabad, April 8, IRNA -- A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) fighter plane crashed in eastern Punjab province on Thursday while on a training mission, killing the pilot, PAF spokesman said. The Chinese-made F-7 jet was flying on an operational training mission when it crashed for technical reasons near the Jhang city, some 280 kilometers southwest of the capital Islamabad, spokesman Air Commodore Sarfaraz Khan said here. The pilot, Lt. Imran Tariq, was killed immediately, Khan added. The Air force headquarters has ordered inquiry into the accident. There was no human and property loss on ground. TK/TSH/212 End
