Pakistan denies helping Libya develop N-plan
IRNA
Islamabad, Jan 8, IRNA -- Pakistan has denied a US newspaper report, which alleged Islamabad had provided Libya with technology to enrich uranium for use in nuclear weapons. The Information Minister and Government Spokesman Sheikh Rashid Ahmed dubbed the US newspaper report as `groundless`, local press reported Thursday. The minister said Pakistan was a responsible nuclear power and had a foolproof export control regime in line with its non-proliferation obligations. However, he added that Islamabad had already started a process to investigate allegations some scientists may have indulged in passing on sensitive technology to other countries. /TSH/216/212 End
