Pak-Iran N-cooperation report baseless, motivated: Pak Spokesman

Islamabad, Dec 1, IRNA -- Pakistan said Monday that allegations in section of the US press on its possible links with nuclear program of Iran was baseless and politically motivated. "It is a baselss story," Foreign Office Spokesman Masood Khan told a weekly news conference here, "Iran and Pakitan have categorically rejected it in the past and reject it now". Responding to a question on an ongoing probe by the International Atomic Energy Agency over alleged links with Iran, he said, "There is no such investigation going on". The US daily Los Angeles Times claimed in its November 29 issue that IAEA was probing potential links between the atomic programs of Iran and Pakistan. "Such reports are motivated, malacious, and baseless," Khan added. Islamabad and Tehran have repeatedly denied reports on their nuclear programs cooperation. TSH/212 End
