Pakistani minister says carrying peace message to India

Islamabad, Nov 7, IRNA -- Pakistan Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said Thursday he will be carrying message of peace, goodwill and reconciliation for the people of India during his forthcoming visit to New Delhi. Ahmad, who leaves for India on Saturday to represent Pakistan at a regional Information Ministers Conference, was addressing a gathering of journalists in Islamabad. Ministers from the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) meet in India on November 8 to review cooperation in the field of information. "Media can play an important role in bringing the two neighbours closer enabling them to resolve their disputes including Kashmir peacefully," Ahmad emphasized. SAARC groups Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Maldives and Sri Lanka. The information minister said that he would effectively represent the country at SAARC forum to highlight Pakistan`s stance on all issues forcefully. The Senior Advisor to the President, Sharifuddin Pirzada said the information minister has full backing of the nation as he goes to New Delhi and hoped that he would effectively represent the country at the SAARC forum.
