Pakistan successfully conducted a test of the Hatf-One short range surface-to-surface ballistic missile today. All design parameters were validated. The test was a sequel to several previous tests. The new design allows greater payload, improved accuracy and can successfully destroy targets at up to 100 kilometres using a variety of warheads. Hatf One is an indigenous effort and contributes significantly to Pakistan's national security and deterrence strategy. Advance notification of the test fire was provided to all neighbours.
