First Agosta-90 B sails for Karachi from France

ISLAMABAD, Nov 12 (APP): The Pakistan Navy submarine 'Khalid' has sailed from the port of Toulon in France Wednesday for Karachi where it would arrive by mid of December. The submarine on its passage to Pakistan will visit various ports that include Axsaz, Alexandria, Port Said and Jeddah, it was officially announced here On Nov. 11. This is first of the three Agosta-90 B submarines that Pakistan contracted to purchase from France in 1994 under an agreement of complete transfer of technology, 'Khalid' was commissioned into the Pakistan Navy on September 6, this year and since then was undergoing final phase of sea trials with its Pakistani crew.
