Pakistan has no aggressive designs, nuclear capability guarantee for national defence:Nawaz

ISLAMABAD, Aug 15 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Friday said Pakistan has no aggressive designs but has to conduct nuclear tests to secure its national security. The Prime Minister was addressing a first colourful flag- hoisting ceremony in the lawns of Parliament House on the eve of 51st independence day after Pakistan earned a nuclear status by testing nuclear devices on May 28. It started raining as the Prime Minister stood to address the ceremony telecast live on national hook-up. The sudden outburst of shower drenched almost all the participants of the ceremony. Sirens began to sound before his address, with traffic coming to a halt for a few seconds to show respect for the solemn occasion. Multi-coloured balloons went up into dizzying heights of an overcast sky as national anthem was played. The ceremony was attended besides others by Senate Chairman Wasim Sajjad, Speaker National Assembly Illahi Baksh Soomro, Chief Justice of Supreme Court Ajmal Mian, Judges, Federal Ministers, Parliamentarians, three Services Chiefs, diplomats, senior civilians and military officials.

Pak Defence now impregnable, says Prime Minister

LAHORE, Aug. 15 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif declared on Friday that Pakistan defence was now impregnable in the wake of May 28 nuclear tests and any country will now have to think 100 times before launching aggression. Speaking at the 11th gold medals award ceremony of the Tehreek-i-Pakistan Workers Trust at Alhamra Art Centre this afternoon, the Prime Minister said the regional situation has changed dramatically since Pakistan became a nuclear power. He recalled India's aggressive posture after neighbouring country conducted nuclear tests on May 11 which threatened Pakistan's existence. But after Pakistan had conducted her own tests,he said, India suddenly went quiet as the Indian leadership realised the capability of Pakistan to defend its own frontiers.
