Pakistan has no regrets on nuclear explosions and will not succumb to pressure: Nawaz
ISLAMABAD, July 18 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Friday asserted not to accept any pressure as Pakistan has no regrets on its nuclear explosions. "But the nation must brace up to face economic sanctions bravely," he said while speaking at foundation stone-laying ceremony of Rs. 70 million, 40-bed kidney centre here. If someone deliberately wants to "punish us, we should show a brave face so that those slapping sanctions should realize their futility," said Nawaz Sharif in an upbeat mood. Pakistan, he said, is a nuclear power today, hence, noone can dare commit aggression against it. "Our defence has become impregnable after we acquired nuclear capability," said a confident Nawaz Sharif. The kidney centre, to be completed by July next year will be the first of 12 such centres, being built by the Labour Ministry across the country.
Prime Minister continues dialogue with his economic aides, experts
ISLAMABAD, July 18 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Friday continued deliberations and consultations with his top economic aides including industrialists, businessmen, bankers, public representatives and other economic wizards. Friday's was the third meeting, which he presided over during the last three days in his connection. A series of these marathon meetings is being called by the Prime Minister to work out ways and means to revive the national economy in the wake of so-called crisis, which seems to be hovering over the economic horizons of the country. The Prime Minister made it clear to the participants of these meetings that he wants to see the economy back on the rails, and running smoothly. He emphasized that all steps must aim at confidence-building and commonman's welfare. The Prime Minister said that the consultations will continue till practicable cures of ailments of the economy are found.
