Japanese lawmaker Seki Hei betrayed his roots, colluded with anti-China forces to stir up trouble: FM spokesperson on countermeasures on Seki

In response to a media inquiry regarding the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs' announcement of countermeasures against Japanese lawmaker Seki Hei, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said that Seki once held Chinese nationality. After moving to Japan and acquiring Japanese nationality, he colluded with anti-China forces there, launching vicious attacks and smears against China.
He made extremely negative remarks on issues related to Taiwan, the Diaoyu Dao, history, Xizang, Xinjiang, and Hong Kong regions. After being elected to the National Diet of Japan, he openly visited the Yasukuni Shrine. These actions gravely violate the spirit of the four political documents between China and Japan and the one-China principle, seriously interfere in China's internal affairs, and severely undermine China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. In response to such egregious actions, China has decided to impose countermeasures effective immediately, said Lin.
Lin said that Seki, for his own selfish interests, has betrayed his roots, sold his conscience, and colluded with anti-China forces to stir up trouble. China's countermeasures are a strong punishment and stern warning to such individuals. Those who seek personal gain at the cost of betraying their ancestors will inevitably reap the bitter consequences, said Lin.
