Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III hosted National Security Advisor Akiba Takeo of Japan at the Pentagon today to discuss deepening cooperation between the United States and Japan.

Ahead of Prime Minister Kishida's Official Visit to the United States on April 10, the two officials highlighted areas for further Alliance momentum in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
