Soltanieh: Iran to support AL draft resolution in Israel's nuclear capability condemnation
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Vienna, July 16, IRNA -- Iran’s IAEA envoy Ali-Asghar Soltanieh said here on Friday that Iran will undoubtedly support the Arab League draft resolution due to be offered to the IAEA General Conference in September.
“After 20 years, the IAEA General Conference finally passed a resolution last year to condemn Israel’s nuclear capability. To this end, a draft resolution is going to be forwarded by the Arab League to the IAEA General Conference in September, which the Islamic Republic of Iran will undoubtedly support it,” Soltanieh told IRNA after a meeting with the Arab League Chief Amr Moussa here on Friday.
He said, “Regarding approval of the final statement of the NPT Review Conference in New York, which clearly requests the Zionist Regime to join the NPT immediately and put all its nuclear facilities under the IAEA supervision, (IAEA’s) resolution this year is expected to hint to recent NPT approval and move one step ahead than last year in mobilizing international community to force the Zionist regime to join NPT, because its nuclear capability is a serious threat to security of the Middle East and the world.”
Over a 100 countries in the IAEA General Conference have condemned the Zionist regime of Israel for not cooperating with the Agency.
The Zionist regime has refused to sign the Non Proliferation Treaty and it is believed that the regime has about 200 nuclear warheads capable of being mounted on long-range missiles and a stockpile of chemical and biological weapons.
Hundred countries condemn Israel’s refusal to cooperate with its neighbors in working with the IAEA to ensure a safe Middle East where no nation possesses nuclear weapons.
