Syrian FM: Zionist regime biggest nuclear threat in region

Tehran, April 17, IRNA -- Syria’s Foreign Minister Walid Al-Muallem said the Zionist regime was the biggest nuclear threat in the Middle East.
He made the remarks here Saturday morning while talking to reporters in the opening ceremony of the 1st International Conference on Disarmament And Non-Proliferation.
He said that the Zionist regime has been stockpiling nuclear warheads.
Walid Al-Muallem believed the Terhan meeting was a very good opportunity for countries to try to bring to life the mottos on the disarmament issue.
He hoped the meeting will create a firm will in the world on nuclear disarmament.
Asked by reporters to comment on the recent disarmament agreement signed by the US and Russia, he said he hoped these two countries which possessed nuclear arms would be committed to its implementation.
