- Israelis 'will end nuclear option after peace deal' By Ohad Gozani in Tel Aviv The Electronic Telegraph Wednesday 27 December 1995 - ISRAEL'S Prime Minister, Shimon Peres, said yesterday his country was ready to give up its nuclear option if it could conclude a comprehensive Middle East peace deal. "Give me peace, and I'll give up the nuclear option," he told a press luncheon. "If there is regional peace, I believe it will be possible to have a Middle East free of all nuclear threats, missiles and other weapons."
