Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa'ar today (Thursday, 10 July 2025) held a trilateral meeting in Vienna at the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger and German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul.
Following are his full remarks at the trilateral press conference with Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger and German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul:
"I want to thank you, my friend, Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger, for hosting this important trilateral meeting in Vienna, and also for our fruitful discussions yesterday.
And I want to thank my friend Johann, the German Foreign Minister, for coming from Berlin and for his friendship. Thank you both.
My visit to Austria, ten days after your solidarity visit to Israel, Foreign Minister, shows the strength of Israel's relations with Austria.
It is a partnership.
And Johann and I are in constant touch, after our mutual visits to Jerusalem and Berlin. The relations between Israel and Germany are stronger than ever.

Friends,
Today's trilateral meeting between Israel, Germany and Austria is not a one-time thing, as the Minister said.
It is the beginning of a trilateral dialogue between our three nations.
A strategic partnership.
I believe that it is an expression of a commitment to Israel's existence and its security.
It is significant in light of the huge security challenges we have faced over the past two years - since the October 7th massacre.
It is also, in our view - the view of the State of Israel - an honest and open dialogue with friends.
In our meeting, I gave my colleagues the Dinah Project's wide-ranging and significant report on the sexual violence, rape and atrocities committed by Hamas on its October 7th massacre. Everyone must read this report.

I thank you both for the fruitful dialogue that we are conducting - with you and the E.U. - on the humanitarian issue.
It is based on an understanding of human needs and of the threat that Hamas and the Gaza Strip have posed to Israel over the past twenty years.
This dialogue is important and it will continue.
I want to thank Germany and Austria for standing by Israel in Europe and on the world stage.
Following our dialogue with the E.U., our Security Cabinet made further decisions last Sunday to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
And they include more trucks, more crossings and more routes for the humanitarian efforts.

Israel is serious in its will to achieve a hostage deal and ceasefire in Gaza.
I believe it is achievable.
We sent a delegation to negotiate in Doha, there already for the fifth day.
And - according to the framework - if a temporary ceasefire is achieved, we will negotiate on a permanent ceasefire.

The Iranian regime and its leaders openly threatened and acted to eliminate the Jewish state.
They pursued nuclear weapons to achieve that goal.
Israel's Operation 'Rising Lion' severely damaged their nuclear and ballistic missiles programs.
Their nuclear program was a huge threat to regional and global security.
And their ballistic missiles threatened not only Israel - but Europe too. Our operation directly contributed also to European security.
Last week, Iran announced that it will no longer cooperate with IAEA inspections and oversight.
The IAEA oversight must be restored.
I call on the international community to act now, to ensure that Iran never obtains nuclear weapons.
I believe that it's time for the E-3 countries - Germany, France and the UK - to activate the SnapBack against the Iranian regime.

Israel's actions against Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs strengthen also regional stability.
I believe they open the door for an effort for expanding the circle of peace and normalization.
We hope to see other countries join this circle, while still safeguarding Israel's essential and security interests.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Houthi terrorist gang of Yemen, sank a ship in the Red Sea. They killed many on board and kidnapped survivors.
This is the second act of piracy and terrorism by the Iranian proxy just this week!
I call on Europe to rethink its approach to dealing with this threat. It's a threat to international peace, security and economy.
If the Houthis are not confronted, this problem will only grow.

Dear Ministers,
Dear Friends,
Our trilateral summit today is the beginning of a new chapter.
It is an opportunity to take the cooperation between our three nations to a new level.
I look forward to continuing this dialogue in Berlin as agreed and meeting again.
Thank you!"
During the press conference, Minister Sa'ar updated his colleagues and the press on the terrorist attack in Gush Eztion, in which a young Israeli man was murdered.
