Briefing Script Input:
	Iraq's BW Program
Iraq developed a production capability for the biological
warfare (BW) agents anthrax and botulinum toxin, and is assessed
to have weaponized one or both of these agents.
The allied bombing campaign has destroyed all known and
suspect Iraqi BW agent production facilities. The Suspect BW
facility at Abu Ghurayb, [ (b) (2) ] , is one example of the
status of these facilities. Other production facilities were
located at Salman Pak, Latifiya, and the former "Infant Formula"
plant at Abu Ghurayb.
        Iraq built at least 19 [ (b)(1) sec 1.3(a)(4) ]
bunkers with refrigeration systems. These bunkers may have been
used for BW agent storage, taking advantage of the low
temperatures to preserve the agents. These bunkers have been
priority targets during the bombing campaign. To date, 14 of these
bunkers have been destroyed or
damaged, making them unsuitable for agent storage.
Iraq may have established clandestine facilities for
continuation of BW agent production; there is no intelligence
information that they have done so. Also, at least 5 of the
refrigerated bunkers remain.
An Iraqi BW attack is still possible. Munitions could have
been relocated from the special bunkers prior to the war, or may
have been recovered following air strikes. At least one possible
salvage operation has been noted at the Salman Pak bunkers.
While there is no confirmation of any type of Iraqi BW
munition, spray devices, cluster bombs and missile warheads are
possibilities. Given Iraq's present delivery means, spray devices
seem most likely.
