PROBABLE FROG BATTALION DEPLOYED SOUTHWEST OF ALI AL SALEM
AIRFIELD; AN ARMORED DIVISION REMAINED AT ALI AL SALEM
AIRFIELD; MINOR REPOSITIONING OF FORCES WAS     NEAR KUWAIT
INTERNATIONAL AIRFIELD. IN SOUTHERN IRAQ, ADDITIONAL ARTILLERY
REPOSITIONED ALONG THE KUWAIT/IRAQ BORDER; ELEMENTS OF AN
INFANTRY BRIGADE ARRIVED 8 KM NORTHWEST OF JALIBAH
SOUTHEAST AIRFIELD; MEDIUM TANKS HAVE BEEN LOADED ON FLATCARS
AT BAGHDAD BARRACKS TAJI; AND TROOP TRAINING     AT
AL MUSAYYIB BARRACKS. ALSO IN IRAQ, ACTIVITY     IN
THE CENTRAL AIR DEFENSE SECTOR, AND FISHBED MULTIROLE FIGHTERS
HAD ARRIVED IN THE WESTERN AIR DEFENSE SECTOR. FURTHER, AN AL
WALEED 1 ERECTOR-LAUNCHER AND THE MAZ SCUD REMAINED AT THE 
BAGHDAD PROBABLE SRBM SUPPORT FACILITY AD DAWRAH, AND ALL FOUR
MAZ SCUD TRANSPORTER-ERECTOR-LAUNCHERS REMAINED AT MUHAMMAD
SRBM SUPPORT FACILITY.     
KUWAIT
GROUND ACTIVITY--
IN SOUTHERN KUWAIT, A PROBABLE FROG-7 BATTALION (THREE LOADED
TRANSPORTER-ERECTOR-LAUNCHERS) DEPLOYED TO REVETTED POSITIONS
IN THE VICINITY OF 29-17N/047-25E SINCE   DECEMBER. THIS
DEPLOYMENT IS APPROXIMATELY 29 KM NORTH OF THE KUWAIT-SAUDI
BORDER, AND 13 KM SOUTHWEST OF ALI AL SALEM AIRFIELD.     
     MAJOR ELEMENTS
OF AN ARMORED DIVISION, INCLUDING AT LEAST TWO ARMORED
BRIGADES, REMAINED DEPLOYED NORTHWEST OF ALI AL SALEM AIRFIELD.
IN OTHER ACTIVITY, PROBABLE UNIT REPOSITIONING WAS     NEAR
KUWAIT INTERNATIONAL AIRFIELD. ONE MECHANIZED INFANTRY
BATTALION HAS DEPLOYED SOUTHEAST OF THE AIRFIELD TO
290-12N/048-00E SINCE     JANUARY. TWO OF THE THREE MECHANIZED
INFANTRY COMPANIES WITHIN THE BATTALION WERE NET COVERED. OTHER
OF MINA ABD ALLAH REMAINED UNCHANGED.     
IRAQ
GROUND ACTIVITY--
     ALONG THE CENTRAL IRAQ-KUWAIT 
BORDER     AN ADDITIONAL ARTILLERY BATTALION HAS
DEPLOYED NEAR THE REPUBLICAN GUARDS MECHANIZED INFANTRY
DIVISION AT APPROXIMATELY 29-53N 046-55E SINCE    JANUARY.     
IN SOUTHERN IRAQ, AN OPERATIONAL SA-2 SURFACE-TO-SIR MISSILE
BATTALION CONSISTING OF SIX LOADED SA-2 LAUNCHERS HAS BEEN
DEPLOYED EAST OF SAFWAN AIRFIELD IN A REVETTED/BERMED SITE AT
30-08-32N/047-42-39E SINCE     JANUARY. ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT AT 
THE SITE INCLUDES A PROBABLE FAN SONG TRACKING AND GUIDANCE
RADAR AND AT LEAST FOUR UNIDENTIFIED VEHICLES.     
ELSEWHERE IN SOUTHERN IRAQ, ELEMENTS OF AN INFANTRY BRIGADE (AT
LEAST TWO INFANTRY BATTALIONS) HAVE ARRIVED 8 KM NORTHWEST OF

TO THE NORTH,     OF BAGHDAD BARRACKS TAJI
REVEALS THAT AT LEAST NINE MEDIUM TANKS HAVE BEEN LOADED ON
FLATCARS AT THE RAIL TRANSFER POINT SINCE      JANUARY. THE TANKS
ARE PROBABLY DESTINED FOR THE KUWAIT THEATRE OF OPERATIONS.
TROOP TRAINING WAS ALSO     AT AL MUSAYYIB BARRACKS
WITH AT LEAST 500 TROOPS (SOME IN FORMATION) GATHERED ON THE
MAIN DRILL FIELD. NUMEROUS CIVILIAN SEDANS WERE ALSO PARKED
IMMEDIATELY OUTSIDE THE MAIN GARRISON. MUSAYYIB IS
APPROXIMATELY 50 KM SOUTH OF BAGHDAD.     
IRAQ
AIR ACTIVITY--
AT BALAD SOUTHEAST AIRFIELD, SIX FROGFOOT GROUND ATTACK
AIRCRAFT HAVE PROBABLY BEEN MOVED INTO THEIR HARDENED AIRCRAFT
BUNKERS.     
THREE OF THE SIX FROGFOOT HAD GROUND SERVICE EQUIPMENT (GSE)
NEARBY AND APPEARED TO BE IN A READY ALERT STATUS. IN OTHER
ACTIVITY, TWO FLOGGER MULTIROLE FIGHTERS AND TWO FITTER
FIGHTER-BOMBERS REMAINED ON ALERT; GSE WAS NEAR EACH AIRCRAFT.
AIR ORDER-OR-BATTLE INCLUDED THREE FLOGGER (ONE ON AN ENGINE
RUN-UP APRON IN THE DISPERSAL AREA), THREE FITTER, ONE CANDID,
AND ONE FENCER.     
AT MUDAYSIS AIRFIELD IN THE WESTERN AIR DEFENSE SECTOR, FIVE
FISHBED MULTIROLE FIGHTERS HAS ARRIVED SINCE     
     JANUARY. THE AIRCRAFT WERE PARKED ON TWO 
SEPARATE APRONS IN THE NORTHWEST DISPERSAL AREA. FIXED WING
AIRCRAFT NORMALLY ARE NOT     AT THIS AIRFIELD, BUT THE
POSSIBILITY THAT THE FISHBED WERE REMOVED FROM HANGARS SHOULD
NOT BE RULED OUT. THE AIRFIELD CONTINUED TO BE DEFENDED BY
ELEMENTS OF A TANK COMPANY.     
NO SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITY WAS     AT UMM QASR.
MISSILE ACTIVITY--
THE AL WALEED 1 ERECTOR-LAUNCHER AND THE MAZ SCUD WITHOUT AN
ERECTOR MECHANISM REMAINS AT THE BAGHDAD PROBABLE SRBM SUPPORT
FACILITY AD DAWRAH. ALSO, ALL FOUR MAZ SCUD
TRANSPORTER-ERECTOR-LAUNCHERS REMAINED IN THEIR FORMER
POSITIONS AT MUHAMMAD SRBM SUPPORT FACILITY.     
IRAQ -
NO SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITY WAS
