BAGHDAD IS STILL TRYING TO DECEIVE UN INSPECTION TEAMS AND TO
ACQUIRE TECHNOLOGY TO RECONSTRUCT PROHIBITED MILITARY PROGRAMS.
REPORTS BAGHDAD REMOVED ALL THE
MUNITIONS FROM A LARGE CHEMICAL WEAPONS STORAGE SITE AT MUHAMMADIYAT
DURING THE WAR. THE IRAQIS TOLD UN INSPECTORS LAST YEAR THAT
THOUSANDS OF DECLARED CW MUNITIONS WERE DESTROYED WHEN THE FACILITY
WAS BOMBED; HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS AT THE SITE, HOWEVER, PREVENTED THE
INSPECTORS FROM MAKING AN ACCURATE COUNT.
