Iraqi commander lauds Iran's role in freeing Iraq

TEHRAN (ISNA)- A senior Iraqi commander lauded Iran's support for Iraqi government, reiterating that there would be no government in Baghdad if Iran's did cooperate with the country.

'Haidar al-Abadi's government would be outside of Iraq if Iran did not cooperate (with Iraq). It is not possible to obtain our goals without support of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraqi people,' said Secretary General of Iraqi Badr Organization Hadi al-Ameri.

He also lauded the role of a martyred Iranian commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Brigadier General Hamid Taghavi in liberating Jurf al-Sakhar district in Northern Hillah, Babil province.

The Iraqi commander noted that liberation of Iraq without participation of popular forces is possible, adding grounds are being provided for presence of popular forces to free the entire Iraq.

Hadi al-Ameri, also noted popular forces are capable of liberating the entire Iraq jointly with Army and without any need to international forces and the US.
