At least nine prominent ISIL commanders have been killed during an army operation in Iraq's western province of Anbar.
Iraqi security officials say army troops targeted the positions of ISIL terrorist group in Ramadi, the provincial capital of Anbar.
Meanwhile, reports say that the Takfiri insurgents have executed at least 15 people in al-Beaaj district of the northern city of Mosul.
The militants have also recaptured northern parts of the town of Dhuluiyah in Salahuddin Province.
The Takifiri insurgents retreated from the town on Saturday following heavy clashes with the Iraqi armed forces backed by Shia and Sunni volunteers.
Nearly a dozen people including seven Iraqi police and several tribal fighters were killed in the ISIL assault.
The ISIL terrorists, of whom many are foreign militants, currently control parts of eastern Syria and Iraq's northern and western regions.
They have been committing heinous crimes in the captured areas, including mass executions and beheadings of people.
The Western governments have contributed to the rise of the ISIL terrorists by sponsoring the militants fighting against the government in Syria.
The militants received training to use light and heavy weapons with the help of the US government at a secret base in Jordan in 2012, informed Jordanian officials say.
