Local authorities in Iraq's Kirkuk say Takfiri ISIL militants are getting closer to the volatile city in northern Iraq.

On Sunday, Hasan Turan, the chairman of Kirkuk Provincial Council said all minorities in the region, including Turkmens and Kurds, are worried about the advance of ISIL terrorists and prepared to fight against them.

Turan added that the Turkmen minority in northern Iraq has suffered heavy casualties over the past months.

The official made the comments during a meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

The local official also said hundreds of Turkmens have been killed by the Takfiri terrorists and thousands more have fled the violence.

Iraq's human rights minister says ISIL terrorists have executed at least 500 members of Izadi Kurds after seizing the northern town of Sinjar. Mohammed Shia al-Sudani noted that ISIL militants burned alive some of their victims, including women and children.

The Takfiri group has also kidnapped some 300 women as slaves. Tens of thousands of Izadi Kurds have fled from Sinjar since the ISIL cult seized the ancient town a week ago.

Meanwhile, Iraqi officials say more than 20,000 of them who escaped to Syria have returned to Iraq's Kurdistan, with the help of Kurdish Peshmerga forces.

The ISIL has taken several towns since it intensified attacks in Iraq in mid-June. The army is engaged in fierce fighting with the militants to push them out of the captured areas.

The terrorist groups have links with Saudi intelligence and it is believed that they are being indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki has blamed Saudi Arabia and Qatar for the security crisis and growing terrorism in his country.
