Mottaki: Published documents by Wikileaks 'suspicious'

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Oct 27, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki in a press conference here in the venue of Tehran Media and News Agencies exhibition on Tuesday late afternoon said the publication of Wikileaks documents is 'suspicious'

Concerning published documents in Wikileaks website, a reporter asked that some sources have declared that the intention of publishing such documents is to ruin Iran and Nuri al-Maleki images.

Mottaki answered that the same thing occurred in Afghanistan some time ago and a collection of documents were published on the eve of Afghanistan election, goals of which are not clear yet.

He continued that, recently, a number of documents, accuracy of which is not clear, were published on the eve of establishment of a new Iraqi government, so the action seems completely suspicious.

Mottaki noted that in the published documents, the US operations in Iraq have been given a low profile and there is no trace of inhuman acts of the US in Iraq.

He expressed hope that researchers, historians and skilled politicians would find the reasons of the act and publish it for world public opinions.

The Iranian senior diplomat underlined that the act is suspicious and with special objectives and programming.

He categorically rejected the accusations leveled against Iran in the published documents about Iran's intervention in Iraq's internal affairs.
