SNSC Secretary calls for bolstering ties between Iran, Iraq

Tehran, Oct 16, IRNA -- Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili, by referring to deep cultural and civilizational ties between Iran and Iraq, underlined bolstering relations between the two countries.
Jalili, in a meeting with visiting Iraqi Interior Minister Jawad al-Bulani here on Saturday afternoon, by expressing sorrow for Iraqi nation sufferings during dictatorial regime, expressed hope that, with promotion of security in Iraq after departure of the occupiers, Iraqi nation and government witness growing success in all fields.
Referring to the existing problems for transferring Iranian pilgrims, Jalili called for more efforts of the Iraqi government to provide security and increase facilities, especially in border areas between the two countries.
The Iraqi minister, by presenting a report on security conditions in his country after withdrawal of the US forces, appreciated Iran’s brotherly help.
Jawad Bulani also called for strengthening bilateral cooperation and transferring Iran’s experiences in the field of security affairs.
