The preliminiary results from the March 7 polls, released Friday, show Mr. Allawi's Iraqiya coalition with 91 seats in the 325-seat parliament, and Mr. Maliki's State of Law coalition with 89 seats.
Trailing them are the Shi'ite-majority Iraqi National Alliance, with 70 seats, followed by the main Kurdish coalition, the Kurdistan Alliance, with 43.
