Iran calls for establishment of security on Iran-Iraq joint borders

Tehran, Dec 20, IRNA -- First Vice-President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi on Sunday underlined the need for establishment of security along Iran-Iraq joint borders.
He made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting high executives of Iraqi Kurdistan Barham Saleh.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to further expand its all-out cooperation with Iraq without any restrictions, he said.
Regretting that Tehran-Baghdad economic ties are not at a desirable level, he voiced the Islamic Republic’s readiness to promote cooperation with Iraq in the areas of trade, industry, higher education, energy, dam construction and housing.
Stressing the importance of Iran-Iraq ties, Saleh reiterated that Baghdad attaches great importance to expansion of all-out cooperation with Tehran, particularly in the fields of politics, economy, commerce and culture.
He further invited Rahimi to visit Iraqi Kurdistan in the near future.
