ITAM- Air Force opens new Headquarters Building
CAMP STRYKER, Iraq – Iraq Training and Advising Mission-Air Force recognized the grand opening of their new headquarters building here Dec. 17.
Lt. Gen. Michael Barbero, Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq commander, and Maj. Gen. Robert Kane, ITAM-AF director, recognized the grand opening of the facility with a ceremonial ribbon cutting. “I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of this facility,” said Kane.
The 6,900 square foot building was completely renovated, with some of the most advanced fiber- optic phone and internet cables available. The 808th Engineer Company and telecommunication specialist from the 50th Signal Battalion completed the infrastructure project one month ahead of schedule and saved more than an estimated $490,000.
U.S. Air Force Maj. Mike Freeman, civil engineer advisor assigned to ITAM-Air Force and lead project officer for the facility renovation added, “This was the perfect event to recognize all of the people who made this building what it is today. I can’t say enough about the outstanding efforts of the young soldiers of the 808th Engineering Company.”
