Jalili underlines need to expand Iran-Iraq cooperation

Tehran, April 15, IRNA -- Secretary of Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Saeed Jalili here on Wednesday underlined the need to use all potentials in expanding Iran-Iraq cooperation to ensure welfare for the two nations.
According to a report by the secretariat of the council, he made the remarks in a meeting with acting head of Iraq's Kurdistan, Kosrat Rasul Ali.
Referring to cultural and historical commonalities between the two nations, he declared Iran's readiness to use all its facilities for the development and sustainable growth of the Arab country as well as the Kurdistan region.
Describing security as essential for progress and stability, Jalili added that all efforts should be made to establish further security in integrated Iraq.
Rasul Ali, for his part, expressed pleasure over Iran's progress in different fields and called for deepening ties between the two countries.
Referring to the long-lasting friendship between the two nations which stood by each other in difficult conditions, he noted, "We should safeguard the achievements of the brotherly ties."
Calling for holding further talks with Iran, he said that its experience is beneficial for all countries.
