Iraqi Police Find 15 Bodies in Northeast Diyala Province
By VOA News

Iraqi authorities say they have found 15 bodies in northeastern Iraq's Diyala province.
Officials Thursday said the individuals appear to have been killed a week ago.
Although violence is generally on the decline in Iraq, Diyala province remains a particularly volatile area. Last month, U.S. forces launched an offensive there aimed at driving out al-Qaida in Iraq insurgents from the religiously mixed province.
In other news, the U.S.-led military in Iraq says coalition troops, as well as Iraqi security forces and citizens, have killed or detained 78 suspected terrorists in Baghdad so far this week.
In a statement Thursday, the military says soldiers, police and concerned Iraqi citizens were involved in a series of engagements and precision operations throughout the capital.
The military says among those detained are six individuals suspected of involvement in a rocket attack on Monday that killed five Iraqi civilians.
In other violence, the U.S.-led military says a coalition soldier in Baghdad was killed Wednesday by an improvised explosive device.
Elsewhere, the British defense ministry says four British soldiers were wounded late Wednesday in an explosion near their base in the southern city of Basra.
