Iran's Vice-President Ali Saeedlu said on Monday that Iran is ready for all-out expansion of cooperation with Iraq.
Stressing expansion of economic, political, commercial and cultural relations between Tehran and Baghdad, Saeedlu told Iraqi Minister of Electricity Karim Waheed that unity and cohesion should serve as a means for running Iraq's affairs.
"The Iraqi nation has shown throughout history that it is against injustice and tyranny and will never yield to colonialists," he added.
Stressing the need for pullout of occupiers from Iraqi, Saeedlu said foreigners occupied Iraq under the pretext of democracy and deceived the world public opinion with their slogan of campaign against terrorism. This is while nations have been awakened and hate any form of colonialism and occupation, he added.
Saeedlu, also head of the Iran-Iraq Economic Development Headquarters, said people and a popular government should have direct role in guaranteeing security and stability in Iraq and today the time of military expedition and occupation of countries is over.
Pointing to Iran's outstanding activities in different fields in Iraq, including development of the country's infrastructures and energy, Saeedlu said Iran is ready for further promotion of cooperation with Iraq.
Waheed for his part briefed Saeedlu on implementation of the formerly reached agreements between the two countries and urged further expansion of mutual cooperation.
He also called for contribution of Iranian companies to Iraq's reconstruction projects, especially establishment of power transmission networks and power plants there.
