Foreign Ministry spokesman, Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said on Sunday that final discussions were being made to determine the time and level of next round of Iran-US talks on Iraq.

He made the remarks at his weekly press conference.

"We will announce the level and time of the (Iran-US) talks immediately after finalizing the ongoing consultations," Hosseini stressed.

Iran and US have so far held three rounds of talks about Iraq's security situation.

The talks were respectively held on May 28, July 24 and August 6 with the participation of Iran's Ambassador to Iraq Hassan Kazemi Qomi, his US counterpart Ryan Crocker and representatives of the Iraqi government.

US President George W. Bush offered to enhance the contacts to foreign minister level and assigned Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to hold talks with Iranian counterpart last month.
