Georgian Brigade to uncase colors in Iraq

FORWARD OPERATING BASE DELTA, Iraq – Media are invited to attend the 3rd Georgian Brigade uncasing ceremony Oct. 8 at 9 a.m., at FOB Delta, Iraq.
The ceremony officially marks the relocation of the brigade headquarters to FOB Delta. The Colors symbolize the history of the unit and the streamers recognize the wars and campaigns it has participated in.
Georgia deployed about 2,000 Soldiers from the 3rd Georgian Brigade to man checkpoints between al Kut and the Iran-Iraq border, provide convoy and base security and provide troops for a joint quick reaction force with the 984th Military Police Company.
