Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad Hassan Kazemi Qomi said Monday that the Iraqi people are the key to solving the country's security problems without the intervention of foreign troops.
He made the remark while attending a press conference marking the Government Week in Iran.
The Iranian diplomat said that just as Iran benefited from its popular forces to solve its security problems, Iraq can make a similar move.
Kazemi Qomi declared Iran's full readiness to transfer its relevant experience to the Iraqi government.
"The challenges currently facing Iraq do not include cultural and social issues, therefore people's committees can have a decisive role in promotion of security, given that they are free from ethnic and religious concerns.
"Unfortunately, the US policy based on meddling in Iraq's internal affairs has intensified factionalism and violence," he added.
The official said that by gaining full national sovereignty the government can overcome the current security crisis in the country and thus give people a more decisive role in solving such security crises.
"Iran's policy on Iraq is to prevent the country from becoming the cause of dispute between Iran and US.
"The discord between Iran and the US are not associated with Iran-Iraq relations, therefore ties between the two neighboring countries are multifaceted," he added.
He said that Iran-Iraq common borders are among the safest borders of Iraq with its neighboring states.
Kazemi Qomi said that the main problem facing Iraq is the presence of foreign forces in the country and underlined that the Iraqis themselves can manage to promote security without the intervention of foreigners.
The diplomat said that according to Iran's foreign policy, the country's nuclear issue should not have an impact on its relations with Iraq.
"Rather Iran favors the policy based on promoting stability, security and independence in Iraq, protecting its territorial integrity, strengthening the popular government of Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and withdrawal of foreign troops," he said.
Underlining Iran's right to nuclear technology, he said that no party can prevent Iran's access to nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
He added that the country's access to scientific technologies and advancement will be in the interest of the world security.
About negotiations with the US, he said that there are no talks between the two sides at present.
Kazemi Qomi supported the Islamic resistance of Lebanese and Palestinian people against the Zionist regime and said that to be present in the Middle East, the Western community needs to revise its views on the region.
Turning to the Zionist regime as the problem facing the Middle East, he said that Israel's approach and performance will eventually inflict a big loss on it.
He lauded Iran's major achievements in nuclear and medical sectors over the past year, adding that meanwhile it has managed to attract more foreign investments.
The Iranian ambassador said that the positive outcome of the visit of the Iraqi oil minister to Iran became evident right after his return to his country and noted that the fuel crisis in Iraq has improved.
"Today, Iran has turned into a significant path along which oil products of the Central Asian states are transited to other countries including Iran and Iraq.
"Iran is currently considered as the safest, nearest and best transit route for Iraq," he added.
Kazemi Qomi strongly condemned the terrorist operations in Iraq and said that such measures will certainly get nowhere in the country.
