Kuwait FM: Iraq's neighbors support national reconciliation plan

Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Mohammad Sabah al-Salem al-Sabah here on Sunday said Iraq's neighboring states fully support the country's national reconciliation plan.

He made the remark while talking to reporters on the sidelines of the 9th meeting of foreign ministers of Iraqi neighboring states plus Egypt which concluded here Sunday.

"All Iraqi neighboring states are ready to help make the plan successful," he added.

Underlining the need to halt violations in Iraq, he stressed that terrorists should not be given the opportunity to continue their operations in the war-torn Iraq.

Participants in the two-day meeting discussed ongoing developments in Iraq and problems of Islamic states.

Foreign ministers of Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Egypt were the main participants in the Tehran meeting.

Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa and United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan's special representative for Iraq, Ashraf Qazi, were among the meeting's participants.
