Mottaki confers with Iraqi political figure

Iran-Iraq-Foreign Minister
Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Tuesday held talks with Iraqi political figure Ibrahim Muhammad Bahrol Uloum on the latest developments in Iraq and the region.
Mottaki told Bahrol Uloum that religious leaders have played an effective role in encouraging the people to enforce law and order in Iraq adding that Iraq is currently going through a critical situation and it is in pressing need of collective action on part of all Iraqi political groups to overcome the current difficulties.
He referred to the critical periods in the course of the Islamic Revolution and said that the Islamic Revolution became triumphant after passing difficult paths thanks to the grace of the Almighty and sacrifices of the revolutionary leader.
Iranian foreign minister said that US strategy in Iraq has faced paradox adding that the US seeks its own covert interest vis-a-vis majority votes of Iraqi people they cast in the last democratic election.
He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran attaches importance to the results of elections in Iraq in the political process in the country adding that Iran respects lofty goals of Iraqi people.
Mottaki called for solidarity among different political groups to put behind the current dilemma.
Bahrol Uloum appreciated Iran's positive stand on Iraq and said that Iraqi political leaders are pleased with Iranian policy of support for national sovereignty of Iraq and its territorial integrity.
He said that Iranian success of producing fuel at laboratory level accounts for scientific success of all Muslim nations.
