- Iraq Uncovers Mass Grave in Shi'ite Holy City VOA 27 Dec 2005 -- Iraqi authorities say they have found a mass grave containing at least 20 bodies in Karbala, a holy city for Shi'ite Muslims. They believe those in the grave were victims of Saddam Hussein's bloody suppression of a Shi'ite uprising after the Gulf War in 1991.
